Oasis: Renew for the Journey is a two-day conference designed to replenish ministers, musicians, and teachers of church music, both personally and professionally. Join us for morning worship and devotion, an evening concert, breakout sessions, and fellowship time on the beautiful campus of Campbell University! The JW Pepper music store will also be open to showcase new music for 2018!

Clinicians

Pepper Choplin is a full-time composer, conductor and humorist. He has gained a reputation as one of the most creative writers in church music today.  With a diverse musical background, Choplin incorporates varied styles such as folk, Gospel, classical, and jazz. His published works includes over 300 anthems for church and school choir with 20 church cantatas and two books of piano arrangements.  

 

 

Joel Raney started playing the piano sometime between learning to walk and learning to read. His taste for gospel music began in a rural Baptist church in Alabama, an influence that shows strongly in his work to this day. Since 1999 he has taken the church music scene by storm, with over 200 titles in print, primarily with Hope Publishing where he serves as Editor.  

 

 

Larry Shackley is a full-time composer and music editor from Columbia, SC.  From 1995-2007, he taught and directed the music program at Columbia International University in Columbia, SC.  Mr. Shackley is also an active studio musician, arranger, and orchestrator. Over the past several years, he has devoted most of his composing to music for the church, writing close to 600 keyboard arrangements and 300 choral pieces for a variety of publishers.
