Friends of the Library Annual Meeting & Dinner
October 8 @ 4:30 pm - 8:00 pmvaries
4:30PM – 5:30PM
Before our annual gathering, take an (optional) excursion to the Campbell Pollinator Meadows & River Park. Stroll the trails or ride via golf cart along what some call the prettiest stretch of the Cape Fear watershed, a lush ecosystem that includes wildflower meadows and mature forests alive with a diversity of native butterflies, songbirds, and wildlife.
Dr. John Bartlett, Associate Professor of Biology and Director of Campbell’s Cape Fear River Initiative, will be on hand alongside Campbell students to share his zeal for the Campbell River Park.
Children are welcome, too, with activities planned for the young (and young at heart!)
6:00PM – 8:00PM
Gather and dine in the grand new Oscar N. Harris Student Union, while enjoying a presentation from Philip Gerard, author of Down the Wild Cape Fear: A River Journey Through the Heart of North Carolina, the 2013 account of his 200-mile journey by canoe and powerboat down the river.
