CICS (Campbell Interprofessional Case Studies): Fall 2019 Case

October 23 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us on October 23rd (5:30 – 7:30 PM) for an evening of interprofessional teamwork! Graduate/professional students from the following programs are eligible to attend: Clinical Research (MSCR), Maters of Biomedical Sciences (MSBS), Nursing (BSN), Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Pharmaceutical Sciences (MSPS), Pharmacy (PharmD), Physical Therapy (DPT), Physician Assistant (MPAP), and Public Health (MSPH). Additionally, this event is open to Social Work and Athletic Training students as well.

In a CICS experience, small interprofessional groups of students interview a patient and collaborate to develop a diagnosis and treatment plan. The groups reflect on their interprofessional collaboration and discuss their ideas about how to approach the presented scenario in the future as part of an interprofessionally-collaborative team.

This experience is a great opportunity to receive professional feedback from our faculty facilitators (you will get to work with faculty members from various health science programs) and also standardized patients (about your patient interviewing skills). Also, don’t miss this invaluable opportunity to network with students – your future professional colleagues! – from other programs as well! And don’t forget – pizza is served, and prizes are raffled off!

Participating in CICS also counts towards Interprofessional Leadership Recognition Program requirements, for those pursuing this official recognition. For more info on this recognition program, click here.
