Campbell Divinity Alumni Day and Cogdill Retirement Celebration
March 26 @ 10:40 am - 1:00 pm
We hope you will be able to join us as we celebrate the service and leadership of Dr. Michael G. Cogdill! After thirty-six years of service to Campbell University and twenty-four years of leadership to Campbell Divinity School as founding dean and professor, Dr. Cogdill is retiring at the end of this academic year. His legacy is firmly established in the solid foundation of the Divinity School, in its heart for the church, its rich community of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters, and in the holistic quality of ministry preparation that he envisioned and brought to life.
Long before Campbell University Divinity School was a highly esteemed school providing 721 graduates with a Christ-centered, Bible-based, and ministry-focused theological education, it was a dream in the heart of Dr. Cogdill. He dreamed of a school where head and heart, thought and action, prayer and work joined together to form ministers with a love for God and a love for God’s people. With the mind of a dean and the heart of a pastor, Dr. Cogdill nurtured this dream from a blank piece of paper into a school that lives out his conviction that “It is worth a life to be a Christian minister!”
